Did you know Making Memories now offers some of their ribbons on spools, so you can buy yards and yards of your favorites? The challenge this week is to use some of your favorite ribbons on a project.
I created a set of flowers and a fun little reminder (for myself) to frame and display in my office. I love the bright fun colors of the Cheeky line, and the ribbons are perfect for what I wanted to do…I especially love the gathered grosgrain ribbons.
To create the flowers, I simply used a foam brush to spread mod podge on the embossed kraft paper, then started in the center and made circles with the ribbons. When I got to the end, I snipped off the ribbon and then added various green ribbons to create stems and leaves.
To finish the flowers I added some of the buttons from the Vintage Hip button cards. This project came together so easily because everything was already coordinated, and the technique is super easy and quick. Seeing the finished project makes me happy…and that is one step closer to my happily ever after! Now go pick out some of your favorite ribbon and create something that makes you happy, then upload it to the gallery -- I can’t wait to see what you create!
