Music Designer Challenge - Week One
This this Hello. This month's designer challenges will explore how music influences us in scrapbooking. I love music. I have played the violin for over 25 years (eek, that's a long time!), and enjoy a wide variety of music types. I'm almost always listening to music when I scrap and I know many of you do too. It's inevitable that we will absorb some of that musical creativity and incorporate it into our own projects - leaning upon the musical artist's talents and imagination to stretch our own.
The first challenge focuses on titles. The title of a song, aside from the recognizable riff or melody, is the most important form of identification the song can have. The title is usually a major part of the song, repeated throughout the verses, and most of the time, will sum up what the song is about. This can have a similar meaning in our pages as well - summing up the feel of the page in just a few words.
The fun part of using music to inspire our scrapbooking is that certain songs have a deeper meaning - not just the title, but the music and lyrics themselves can speak to us. We will explore these areas more in weeks to come but for today, take a title from a favorite song and use it, as is, in a new scrapbook page.
My "Heaven's Wall" page comes from a favorite song by The Devlins called; Heaven's Wall. I love how the title goes along so well with my son's little adventure with our back fence; or his own version of a wall. The symbolism of 'Heaven's Wall' is meaningful to me and inspired the journaling. It's fun to get all this from just a title. The song itself brings a smile to my face whenever I hear it. I used the new Poolside Paperie collection; papers, trims, and clips, and the blue Puffy Alpha stickers for the title.
