Well, I think that those who are bashing the so called "sour grapes" for expressing their opinions are just as sour!
I LOVE the MM line. I have tons of their stuff and will continue to purchase their products. I have to agree with both sides though. First, I offer a big congrats to the 50 that were picked. I'm sure they worked just as hard as the rest of the 1000+ who entered and they deserve to be able to revel in their glory. Good luck to each and every one of you. I will continue to follow the contest and vote weekly.
What I'm frustrated about is that each of the 50 chosen seem to be similar in style. I don't really see any diversity in the projects that were posted. I personally would like to have seen 50 projects that offered differences in styles. That, IMO, is where the "new" is found. I don't mean to offend anyone by any of my comments but I feel that if MM was looking for a specific "style" or look that it should have been stated. Scrap on ladies and best of luck to you all.

Congrats to all that have made the top 50. All the pages look fab. Pity about the negitive comments though.
Go the aussie girls.

Way to go each and every one of you!!! Big big BIG congratulations :-) You should ALL feel very proud of yourselves for achieving Top 50. I see some familiar Aussie names.. congrats darlins!!
Such a pity negative comments are posted though when really we should be drawing together for the greater good... isn't there enough nastiness in the world today without adding to it? Be happy for your fellow scrappers!!!
Love n Hugz to you all!

Well I've gotta say ladies, I most certainly can see HEAPS of creative and innovative and inspiring, layouts, Big stick outs for me are, Becky Heisler, Jacqueline Yeo, Tania Willis, Betsy Sammoro, Charlene Teo, Kelly Noel, and of course Libster'S layouts, well ALL of them actually, I mean REALLY, we all do have our VERY OWN style, and I mean ,What the freakin blazes are we supposed to do??? soon well all have to abtain and arts degree to scrap just to please some people who arn"t quite "happy" with, what the scrappin women of the world are producing,,, What next, should we have to have a licence to "scrap" ??? NOT LIKELY.
Congrats to all 50, well done indeedie.....!

50 very creative and tallented scrappers, what an achievement, congratulations to you all!

Maybe they were working with the best of an unoriginal lot! LOL!
I for one have gone and taken a good look at every layout and although some look simple, and as though they have been done before, there are great and original elements on all of the pages. And representing a style.
REMEMBER that only ONE layout of everyones is posted, and they are shown so small it's hard to tell. Eg: mine is a double and looks ridiculous at such a small size, there's no way that on mine u can see the outrageous amount of stitching that's on there. seeing ONE layout out of THREE items, at a TINY dimension may make it hard to see WHY we were chosen, and Even the people who don't like what theyre seeing have the right to say so, although it could be said nicer.
I've commented before, before I saw all the messages, but again I say congratulations. I think everyones work is awesome and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for the next round!

Congrats to everyone especially to all the aussie gals. WTG guys.
As for the pathetic little people that have nothing nice to say - simple, just go away and disappear it is not like anyone is going to miss you or anything.

Just because someone has an opinion opposite to the majority doesn't mean they are sour grapes. I think the layouts are beautiful, but I too believe that it is something that has already been done. The contest did say initiative and new creative ideas, that's stating facts, not opinions or sour grapes.

YAY to you all :) Great achievement and ignore any negative comments...there are always those who do not agree...everyone has different tastes...that is what is great about the world! You should be proud of yourselves :)

WOOHOO!! Congrats ladies, what an achievement!! Esp to you gorgeous Aussies- yippeee!!
And to the owners of the sour grapes- get over it- it's scrapping- not rocket science!! Why not try and enjoy what you do and be happy for others!!

RE: Been there done that
WTF??? who knows someone will come up with some thing new one day, maybe scrapping just lept forward in the past few years so much that there isnt really anything new to do, the designers for companies are struggling enough to give us new products to play with, (not just vamped up old ideas) let alone anyone coming out with a 'brand new' technique.. maybe there are people out there who can exicute those basic or seen before techniques better than the rest of us
as Sharryn said your not playing for a sheep station or anything like that so chill out
Posted by: Megan W | February 21, 2007 at 12:45 AM
Congratulations everyone, they are beautiful layouts, I'm afraid I have to agree though with the others when they said that it has all been done before. I thought the contest was looking for new creative talent with unique ideas and ways of using things. Obviously I was wrong. The Layouts do look lovely though, I'm just a little disappointed that nothing NEW was found.
Posted by: Rachal Perry | February 21, 2007 at 12:36 AM
Andrea...I agree totally with you.
I posted my congratulations first then went down the list and OMG...I can't believe there is such nastiness out there.
Hey..I entered too but I didn't get picked. So what? I wasn't playing for a sheep station!
All the chosen LO's are absolutely gorgeous and every one of these 50 women need to be congratulated...just like I'm doing now.
Good on you girls...well done...you all should be very, very proud of yourselves.
Don't mind the 'sour grape' comments.
Cheers
Sharryn :)
P.S Go the Aussies..LOL
